🎙️ Bringing Puppets to Life, One Conversation at a Time
A new podcast from Puppet Place explores the art, craft, and chaos of puppetry — starting with a brilliant live panel you’ll want to hear.
A New Podcast for Puppet People (and the puppet-curious)
There’s a new podcast out in the world and if you’ve ever found yourself wondering how puppeteers do what they do, or what actually goes into making something not alive feel very much alive, you’ll want to give this a listen.
It’s called the Puppet Place Cast, and it’s just launched its very first episode.
Recorded live at Puppet Place (Bristol’s home for all things animated and extraordinary), the debut features an honest, lively conversation between three fantastic artists:
Featuring Carrot of @beanpigpuppets, Izzy B @izzleb, Jasmine Orchard from @scarletoaktheatre
The panel’s chaired by @mattwgibbs, with recording by @jonathanevefilm. They talk beginnings, process, and what it actually means to work in puppetry today.

If you’ve never been to Puppet Place, they’re more than just a building on Bristol’s harbourside. They’ve been holding space for puppeteers, fabricators, animators, and weird/wonderful makers for over 40 years. The podcast feels like a natural extension of that thoughtful, generous, and full of creative spirit.
Worth a listen. Especially if you’ve ever picked up a puppet (or thought about it), or if you're just into stories told by people who care deeply about what they make.
