What’s the Show About?
When Ivy rescues a stranded worm, she’s led into a wild underground world full of mushroom mystics, snail quartets, and punk-rock crows. After the Rain is a muddy, musical puppet adventure told through glove, rod, and shadow puppetry, set on a circular rotating stage.
This curious and heartfelt story is all about the meaning of home — for mini-beasts, families, and everyone in between. With playful audience interaction, original songs, and imaginative visuals, it invites young audiences to discover the wonders that appear after the rain.
“A joyful and curious journey into the world beneath our feet, with original songs, mischief, and mushroom magic.”

About Sabotage Theatre Company
Sabotage Theatre is a grassroots, touring company known for its adventurous spirit and commitment to environmental sustainability. They’ve performed in ancient forests, churches, Victorian asylums — even touring with horses and props packed in prams. Their work is playful, handmade, subversive, and defiantly live.
“Sabotage Theatre changed what I thought was possible with theatre… I wasn’t watching what I thought theatre was. I was watching what theatre could be.”
— Megan Johnson, Smugglers Festival
Everything in their shows — puppets, sets, costumes — is created using recycled and repurposed materials, and their passion for rural and alternative touring has taken them through Kent, Sussex, and Cornwall with seven original plays to date.
They believe in the power of theatre as real play — imperfect, imaginative, volatile, and deeply human.
“Funny, subversive, deeply philosophical and beautiful.”
— Fringe Review
“A company that not only entertains but also challenges audiences in a way that is hardly found these days.”
— Andre Braga, Director, Folkestone Puppetry Festival
