Enter a dimly lit world of flickering silhouettes and unexpected laughs with It’s Better in the Dark: A Collection of Shadow Puppet Plays. This playful and imaginative performance stitches together a series of comic, surprising, and occasionally touching shadow puppet sketches.
With its relaxed atmosphere, hand-crafted visuals, and nods to both contemporary wit and ancient traditions, It’s Better in the Dark offers a fresh and flexible take on a centuries-old form. Stories range from original creations to adapted folk tales and shadow puppet classics, presented with subversive humour, spontaneous improvisation, and visual charm.
Each piece is brought to life using handmade puppets and a backlit screen setup, drawing audiences into miniature dramas that are as theatrical as they are intimate.
