What’s the Show About?
“There was once an old lady who wanted to play with the stars…”
With that simple, magical beginning, The Stars in the Sky takes flight. This unique shadow puppet show is performed using a rolling crankie box — a handmade, scrolling lightbox theatre where fantastical creatures emerge, leap, and fly across paper and projection in a visually rich adventure about bravery, imagination, and cosmic curiosity.
A traditional tale becomes a contemporary fable told through visual storytelling, gentle soundscapes, music box melodies, and a personal connection between performer and audience.
The show ends with a Stay & Play shadow session, where children and families can experiment with puppets and light to tell their own starlit stories.
