A Puppet Adventure Lands in Rennes ✨
Friends, this one feels like a treasure chest being cracked open in the heart of Rennes, France. Puppets—those wooden dreamers strung together with thread, history, and imagination—are taking center stage in a special exhibition: The Journey of the Puppet.
It’s not just an exhibition you’ll tiptoe through quietly (though you can if you like). Instead, it’s a proper adventure: tracing the Czech puppetry tradition from 1940 to 2020, thanks to the incredible Radost Theatre. You’ll see it all—sketches, designs, hand-carved wonders, and those little flickers of artistry that slowly turn drawings into living, moving characters.
And here’s the sparkle: you don’t just look at the puppets… you get to pick one up and try it yourself. Because puppets are made to dance, stumble, laugh, and whisper stories—not just sit in glass cases.
The Fun Bits (a.k.a. When You Should Definitely Come)
The exhibition is free (yes, free!) and open to everyone, with special workshops + guided tours where you can actually make and manipulate a puppet. Perfect for kids (8+) and equally perfect for the kids still hiding inside us grown-ups.
